Dear Supporting Broker,

We are pleased to provide details of Longstay & Backpacker 2016/17 which are effective from 1st February 2016.

Longstay & Backpacker is the essential policy for your clients who are taking extended trips abroad such as a gap year, round the world trip or work abroad.

KEY CHANGES INCLUDE

  • Premiums – there are no changes to premiums; in fact, rates have been held for the second year running!
  • There is no longer the option to delete personal possessions cover.
  • Policy cover – there are a number of changes (including new geographical telephone numbers for medical screening, medical assistance, and claims), but the underlying cover remains unchanged.

Please note:
Following feedback from Brokers, we have introduced a new 3 page Sales Leaflet PDF which will be more cost efficient for you to print out. We are not producing a printed version this year.

For those Brokers that use our Self Issue Facility, you can continue to use your 2015/16 Application & Schedule three part sets.

KEY FEATURES OF LONGSTAY & BACKPACKER

 Cover for trips up to 18 months – ideal for your clients who take extended trips abroad

 Two levels of cover to choose from – Longstay cover is available up to age 75 (69 if travelling outside of Europe, Australian and New Zealand destinations). Backpacker cover is available up to age 39.

 Return Home Option – allows up to two trips home (max 21 days per trip).

 Automatic ‘Stop-Over’ Cover – cover is automatically provided for ‘stop-overs’ of up to 7 days maximum in a higher rated area e.g. travelling to New Zealand via the USA. This can be extended to a maximum of 31 days on payment of an additional premium.

 FREE sports & activities cover – a wide range of activities are automatically covered under both Longstay and Backpacker with Activity Pack 1 – click here for details. Other activities can be covered for an additional premium.

The next product to be added to the portal will be Longstay & Backpacker. We expect this to go live during the next three months. More details on this to follow in due course.
