When I phoned, I got a prompt response from a REAL person (!) called Katie, who was very efficient and knowledgeable. She guided me through the options and then took payment over the phone. Excellent experience all round. And I wasn’t even required to download an App for once!!

Making an insurance claim is never a nice experience, because you’ve generally already suffered something which has resulted in the need to claim. That being said, PJ Hayman were exceptional – both in the support they provided whilst abroad, and the speed of settling the claim once back in the UK. Other insurance companies need to follow their example! Special shoutout to Rory Gowland for his excellent customer service!

I have used BMC (British Mountaineering Council) Insurance for numerous years to cover trips to many remote and mountainous locations. Until this year, I had never needed to make a claim, but then when I had an accident in the French Alps, their reputation for excellent coverage proved entirely justified. I called the claim line and was put through to a specialist centre who made all the arrangements to fly me home the next day. I then made a claim for the medical expenses I had incurred in France and the next trip I had booked but was now unable to undertake. Both claims were handled by Rory at PJ Hayman in a prompt, friendly and professional manner, including a call to clarify some questions I had on completing the claim form questions. Nothing about my recovery home and subsequent claims could have been handled any better. Highly satisfied with the service provided!
