What cover is there for bleisure
Bleisure trips are another name for blending business and leisure travel. For instance, if a business is organising an event overseas and want to reward their team, they can extend the trip to explore the country they’re in. Or even turn it into a team building trip. Here at P J Hayman, we have been on our fair share of work trips.
Although both trips and lifestyles aren’t new, they’ve been magnified as viable options for us to bond with teammates away from home and craft a good work-life balance – if we have the freedom to work out of the office. What’s classed as ‘the office’ can look very different from one person to the next. All that’s required is a secure internet connection and the desire to work well in a desirable location.
Let’s look at some of the top bleisure trips we’ve have been on, and those that we plan to go to
Bleisure trips we’ve been on
Following in the footsteps of our Head of Business Development, Jon, let’s see what the Business Development team get up to!
January saw them head to the Travel and Destinations Show in London. Some of our marketing team also attended this event. Here, they got to listen to talks from inspiring travel icons such as Janet Ellis, formerly on Blue Peter but now a solo travel expert. This event is tailored to customers looking to get inspiration and book their holidays, but it was useful to keep up with the current trends!
In February they attended the annual Broker Exchange Event which was also in London. This is where they got to mix with brokers and members of MGAA (Managing General Agents Association). The MGAA host several different events throughout the year so this will definitely not be the last one in 2025!
A message from Jon:
“The purpose of general insurance events like BIBA is to meet up with old contacts, see what other insurers are doing (they all have stands) and find out about new technology and support services. They’re also great for meeting new contacts. In terms of the ones, I’d like to go to … I’ve never been but there are international events and conferences. These focus on technology and international services like emergency medical and repatriation etc”
Our future bleisure trips
Each new year is exciting at P J Hayman! We add lots of bleisure trips and events to the planner for our P J Hayman team to attend. For example, as mentioned by Jon, they frequently attend BIBA events (the British Insurers Brokers Association). This is the largest insurance broking event that allows us to mix with other insurance companies and brokers alike.
Also our team regularly attend the ATII conferences (the Association of Travel Insurance Intermediaries) as well as many others. The ATII events are a great opportunity to collaborate with other companies and stay ahead of the curve.
