From the 1st of April, improvements are coming to Free Spirit. These are designed to allow more people to go for longer trips with higher rates of cover. The product is also moving to a new A-rated underwriting capacity – Watford Insurance Company Europe Limited.
We are delighted to partner with Watford Insurance Company Europe Limited (WICE). It is a subsidiary of Somers Group Holdings Ltd. with an ‘A – (Excellent)’ rating from A.M.Best, who are a global credit agency with 125 years specialising in the insurance industry. They are also rated ‘A’ by Kroll Bond Rating Agency, a global full-service rating agency.
Aside from the change of underwriter, there are several improvements to each level of cover.
Super policies:
Cancellation / abandonment / curtailment cover – increase from £2,500 to £3,000.
Medical expenses cover – increase from £5m to £10m.
Single trip limit increase – from 94 days to 115 days.
Super Duper policies:
Cancellation / abandonment / curtailment cover – increase from £5,000 to £6,000.
Medical expenses cover – increase from £10m to £15m.
Missed departure – increase from £1,500 to £2,000.
Travel delay benefit – increase from £240 (£60 per 12-hour delay) to £400 (£100 per 12-hour delay).
Single trip limit increase – from 94 days to 115 days.
Excess remover. Adjusted from £50 to nil (except for gadget cover).
